7th, 2011 battery was dead and now DVD system doesn't work anymore. They replace our AC compressor clutch relay, which I was told could stick sometimes causing battery drain or causing it to die. Update from : As of Mathe Honda Dealer had a similar problem with one other vehicle. Called the Honda Dealer (Larry Simmons Pkg, WV) told them of the continuing problems.they only offered to run some diagnostics testing, they stated it could be a fuse.maybe or something else, The radio worked only, and the door lock only worked when the odyssey was turned on. system did not work the doors did not work nor did the power doors on each side. This time I had to jump start my wife who were stranded 50miles away. Same problem battery keeps going almost dead or odyssey wont start. I did that, and have had no problems for about six months. I finally stumbled upon one that explained that the fix was just as simple fix: replace the relay switch for the air conditioning. I did some internet research and found a couple of threads online where other people had experienced the same thing, and spent thousands of dollars to have it diagnosed and not repaired. I had two other episodes of the horrible noise and smoking, and battery dying. It then reared its ugly head again in Spring 2016. Then for about one year, the problem seemed to have resolved itself. I stopped, checked under the hood, and nothing. When I stopped at a traffic light after getting off of the freeway, my car began making a horrible noise and smoking. On a hot summer day, during this time, I had been doing freeway driving and then headed through town. I took it down to the automotive store and they could tell that the battery was draining, and chalked it up to faulty batteries. It seemed random, but I replaced the battery at least three times. After six or seven times over the course of a year and many frustrating calls to the dealer and to Honda, its now fixed.I had a few 6-month periods when my car battery would drain after sitting overnight and then randomly if I would turn it off in drive-thrus or after it had sat for a bit. Had it into the Dealer many times, Honda initially refused to fix it. Started within a month of purchasing the vechicle. It may seem trivial but boy is it annoying. "Static crackling noise coming from the speakers. I have to turn the audio off and on to fix the problem. "About every 2 weeks or so, whenever I start the vehicle the radio will skip through all channels and never focus on one. Problem resolved by replacing the XM antenna. Most recent trip was last week, so we are not certain if the most recent repair was successful." "It was a known problem that was recalled but has required multiple trips to dealership to be repaired. My understanding is there has since been a recall to better fix the issue." This was eventually professionally resolved with new brackets installed to hold the entertainment wiring in place better. It's almost as if the system would mute them. In the middle of the calls, people could still hear me but I would be unable to hear them. "When I first purchased the vehicle (used), I used Bluetooth connection to make calls. "Soon after purchase XM satellite radio would go silent-for months at a time" Honda service tried a couple things over about 6 months, the last attempt included replacing the entire wiring harness (4 days). "Audio got crackly, and cut in/out, and screen would go blank. After it was replaced the sound issue went away." They verified that the FAKRA connectors were replaced so the next step was to replace the head unit. "Sound cracking and popping in the audio video system. This was our third Odyssey, and our last." Its now much better but still not working properly. Sometimes on long trips we woul have no radio, no navigation, for hours. "It was an intermittent problem that started right after we purchased the van. "Dealership service department discovered wiring harness disconnect" Hope that this permanently fixes the problem." They also did another recall which may help. As the screen stopped working altogether I went to another dealer who told me that the computer screen was faulty and they replaced it. when this happens nothing controlled by the screen works. They completed a recall and the dealer tried additional things but the system kept dropping MOST. Whole unit got progressively worse a year ago. original dealer replaced cables multiple times but this didnt fix problem. "I have had issues since I bought the vehicle and car would lose MOST. You must not keep the phone connected or the display will come up briefly and then go down killing your navigation." Navigating with Android Auto and the system goes down, AA forgets where you were going and now you must pull over to restart navigation without Honda display. "Android Auto is a victim of infotainment system unreliability.
